Geared toward Dartmouth junior faculty, post-docs, and graduate students, this class will focus on the basic principles of good scientific style and composition.
Hosted by GrantGPS and the Irving Institute and geared toward Dartmouth junior faculty, post-docs, and graduate students, this free class will focus on the basic principles of good scientific style and composition. The course stresses writing with the reader in mind, and thus pays particular attention to impact, logic, and sharp technical style. Emphasis will be on practical applications to create clear text including a discussion of creating strong figures and tables. This class is recommended as a pre-requisite for our spring 2023 grant writing workshop.
The class meets on three Thursdays from 2-4 p.m. via Zoom: December 1, 8, and 15.
Course Content
This course is only open to Dartmouth faculty and researchers. Spaces are limited and registration is required. There is no fee for this course.
