The New Energy Summitc convenes early-career scholars—advanced PhD students, postdocs, or assistant professors—focused on topics in energy and climate, with a strong interest in building their capacity for interdisciplinary collaboration.
The 2026 New Energy Summer Summit will sustain the event's characteristic intimacy among a multidisciplinary cohort of early-career peers. Scholars come from all disciplines, including natural science, technology, humanities, art, health and medicine, social sciences, policy and law, and more.

Catalyzing Connections
Since 2022, New Energy Summits have hosted a total of 84 scholars from 64 universities inside and outside the US for four days of lightning talks, breakout groups, lectures, workshops, and networking.
The mission of the New Energy Summer Summit is to increase the capacity of early-stage energy and climate researchers to accelerate transitions to equitable and sustainable energy systems and a healthy climate via interdisciplinary scholarship and collaboration.
The summit is designed to achieve this mission by:
- Convening a diverse cohort of scholars from a wide range of disciplines in an intimate New England setting for structured and unstructured creative exchange and peer-to-peer networking;
- Enhancing critical skills for multi/interdisciplinary collaboration through workshops, panel discussions, and networking with peers, senior faculty and practitioners.
- Cultivating the "New Energy Network" of summit alumni for increased exchange of ideas and opportunities.
