Institute Director, Professor Elizabeth Wilson, Speaks at Princeton's Andlinger Center

Dr. Elizabeth Wilson, inaugural director of the Arthur L. Irving Insitute for Energy and Society at Dartmouth and Professor of Environmental Studies, will speak on Thursday, December 12, 2020 at Princeton University's Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment. Dr. Wilson's talk, titled "Wrong, Wrong, and Badly Wrong: Conventional Wisdom in the Energy Sector," looks at how "projections of technological progress are often badly wrong," and asks, "How do these false promises, threats, and fears shape our thinking, research priorities, and capacity for transforming energy systems?" Dr. Wilson will "explore projections and realities of new and old technologies within the energy sector to explore how and when 'conventional wisdom' flipped and implications for research, funding, and policy change.
