Dartmouth alumni, join us on Friday, November 8 from 12-1 pm ET for a special Dartmouth Energy and Climate Alumni Network (DECAN) event! For our fall 2024 virtual gathering, Institute Interim Faculty Director Geoff Parker will moderate a discussion between Susan Bodine, an environmental attorney with over 36 years of public and private experience with environmental public policy issues and Dan Reicher ’78, Senior Fellow at Dartmouth's Irving Institute for Energy and Society, leading the Uncommon Dialogue on Northeast Rivers and Dams. About the Participants
Susan Bodine is an environmental attorney with over 36 years of experience in public policy, focusing on water pollution control, waste regulation, wetlands, and contaminated site remediation. She has held senior roles at the U.S. EPA, including Assistant Administrator of the Offices of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance and Solid Waste and Emergency Response. Bodine also served as Chief Counsel for the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. In private practice, she worked at Covington & Burling and Barnes & Thornburg. Currently, she is a partner at Earth & Water Law. She holds degrees from Princeton and Penn Law.
Dan Reicher ’78 is a Senior Fellow at Dartmouth's Irving Institute for Energy and Society, leading the Uncommon Dialogue on Northeast Rivers and Dams. He is also a Research Scholar at Stanford's Woods Institute for the Environment and former Executive Director of the Steyer-Taylor Center for Energy Policy & Finance. With over 25 years in energy policy, Reicher served in key roles at the U.S. Department of Energy and led Google’s Climate Initiatives. He co-founded New Energy Capital and advises several energy companies. Reicher holds a BA from Dartmouth and a JD from Stanford Law School. He lives in California.
Geoffrey G. Parker is the Charles E. Hutchinson '68A Professor of Engineering Innovation and Executive Director of Dartmouth's Master of Engineering Management Program. His research focuses on data analytics, platform economics, and energy strategy. Co-author of Platform Revolution, Parker is a Thinkers50 leader with degrees from Princeton and MIT, and serves as Interim Faculty Director at the Irving Institute for Energy & Society.
