Prepare for a career leading the global energy transition with Dartmouth's Master of Energy Transition (MET) degree. As the world shifts toward renewable energy and decarbonized systems, demand for skilled professionals is skyrocketing — clean energy jobs grew at more than twice the rate of the overall US labor market in 2023 (DOE), with millions more expected to be created over the next decade (WRI).
Dartmouth's nine-month, residential Master of Energy Transition degree program provides interdisciplinary coursework, hands-on experience, and industry mentorship to equip early-career professionals with the skills and networks needed to help power a more sustainable, climate-stable future.
The curriculum is organized into the three focus areas outlined below. Nine total courses are required for the degree; these courses are delivered over three 10-week terms following the Dartmouth calendar (September - June).

The Master of Energy Transition (MET) is part of Dartmouth's Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies.
