In her role as Irving Institute Senior Fellow, Dr. Honor Passow is developing "Energy Transition Boot Camps," aimed at equipping executives and facility managers with the skills and knowledge to lead their organizations confidently through the clean energy transition.
This continuing education program not only imparts essential knowledge but also fosters a network of "Champions for the Clean Energy Transition," as Dr. Passow describes it. The initial target audience includes decision makers in municipalities and hospitals.
Dr. Passow brings a rich and varied background to the role. She has extensive experience designing and teaching in master's programs at Geisel, both in-person and online, and has worked as an engineer and instructor in engineering sciences. Additionally, she has practical experience from her involvement in her town's energy committee and transitioning her home to clean energy by enhancing efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.
"For me," Dr. Passow shares, "it is a dream come true to do work that combines my lifelong passions: education and sustainability. Designing and delivering continuing education at the Irving Institute will draw on my experience designing courses and curricula, my degrees in post-secondary education and mechanical engineering, and my boots-on-the-ground experience of the messiness of doing the energy transition. And I especially look forward to working with the dedicated team at the Institute on the global challenge of decarbonizing to mitigate climate change."
