Abhay Pande '89 has spent his career in investment banking, private equity investing and strategy consulting, mostly in the energy and clean energy sectors. Since 2020, he has been managing director at Princeton Capital Advisors, a global independent advisory firm, where he advises on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic partnerships in the energy, infrastructure and healthcare sectors. He has also been a senior advisor to the Albright Stonebridge Group, a global strategy firm since 2017.
Since 2016, he has been chairman of Ironmont Hydro Ltd, a Singapore-based investment company that acquired the assets of American Capital Energy & Infrastructure in Asia (ACEI). From 2013 to 2016, he was managing director at ACEI, a division of American Capital, where he executed and oversaw private equity investments in clean energy and energy infrastructure in Asia, Africa and the Caribbean, and served on the energy investment committee. From 1998 to 2013, Mr. Pande spent 16 years at Citigroup's investment banking division (aka Salomon Smith Barney), where he was managing director in the U.S. energy investment banking group, co-head of energy, power and chemicals investment banking in Asia, and head of Southeast Asia industrials. During this time, he oversaw, originated, led, or executed several hundred transactions, including initial public offerings, corporate loans, bond, and equity issuances, and mergers and acquisitions. He was previously a Principal at Kearney, a global management consulting firm, where he advised multinational clients on corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions across a range of sectors.
He is a member of the board of directors and chair of the audit committee of zSpace Technologies Inc., a Nasdaq-listed company specializing in augmented and virtual technologies in education, a member of the board of directors of Docketscope Inc., a private owned SaaS regulatory technology company serving U.S. federal government agencies, and an advisory board member of The Clarendon Group, a transportation- and logistics-focused private equity firm.
He previously served on the board of commissioners of Arkora Hydro, a Jakarta exchange-listed hydroelectric power developer. He has been on the national board of the "I Have a Dream" Foundation, which focuses on providing social, academic, and financial support to students from under-resourced communities across the United States.
He is particularly interested in the relationships between global energy supply chains, climate policy, and economic development in the global south and emerging economies.
Abhay has an A.B. in economics from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. with high honors in finance and strategy from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
