Maurice "Fitz" FitzMaurice is a Portfolio Manager at Fidelity Investments and currently manages equity portfolios focused on energy and mid-cap stocks, including Fidelity Select Energy, Fidelity Advisor Select Energy, VIP Energy, Fidelity Advisor Mid Cap II, and VIP Mid Cap Portfolio. Fitz began researching investments in the energy sector for Fidelity in 2000 and has extensive experience in the areas of upstream oil and gas, energy services and technology, midstream energy, refining and marketing, power generation, regulated utilities, renewables / clean energy, geopolitics and energy policy. Prior to his current role, he served as Managing Director of Research for the High Income Division, managing a team of research analysts in Boston and London. Prior to that role, he managed a variety of portfolios including Fidelity Select Transportation, Fidelity Select Aerospace & Defense, Fidelity Select Air Transportation, and the high-yield sub-portfolios of Fidelity Balanced Fund, Fidelity Advisor Balanced Fund, and Fidelity Total Bond Fund. He joined Fidelity in 1998 as a Research Analyst in the High Income Division, focused on high-yield bonds, leveraged loans, convertible bonds, and equities.
