Irving Institute Welcomes Two New Advisory Board Members

The Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy and Society at Dartmouth is pleased to announce two new members of its Advisory Board: Rose Mutiso '08, TH'08, and Robin Nunn '99. Their terms began on July 1, 2021. 

In welcoming the new members, Board Chair Scott Fisher '93, TH'93, TU'98, stated, "We are very excited that Rose and Robin are joining the Board. Both are highly accomplished in areas that are integral to the mission of the Irving Institute. Rose is one of the foremost leaders in developing innovative energy strategies, particularly with respect to advancing energy access and empowering women in Africa. Robin brings world-class legal expertise in both the finance and technology sectors, and outstanding experience in developing ESG strategies and advancing environmental and racial justice. The Irving Institute's strategy and work will undoubtedly be enhanced by Rose and Robin's passion and abilities to make a positive difference in our world."

Rose Mutiso
Rose Mutiso '08, TH'08

Rose Mutiso is the Research Director for the Energy for Growth Hub, a global network of experts linking research and policy to address energy deficits in Africa and Asia. She is also co-founder of the Mawazo Institute, which supports the next generation of female scholars and thought leaders in East Africa. Previously, Mutiso was a Senior Fellow in the Office of International Climate and Clean Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), where she led DOE's engagement on technology and policy dimensions of energy access in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Prior to this, she served as an Energy and Innovation Policy Fellow in the office of U.S. Senator Christopher A. Coons, where she authored several pieces of legislation that were signed into law by President Barack Obama. She earned her BA and BE in Engineering Sciences with a concentration in Materials Science from Dartmouth College, and her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

robin Nunn '99
Robin Nunn '99

 

Robin Nunn is a partner and co-leader of the Banking Industry Team at Morgan, Lewis, & Bockius LLP.  In addition to her trial practice in state and federal court, she also develops integrated Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies, helping clients with ESG reporting, risk, compliance concerns and corporate diversity best practices.  During law school, Nunn interned at the NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund (LDF), assisting LDF's litigation and advocacy in the areas of voting rights, criminal defense, and environmental justice. Additionally, she has been honored for her efforts to promote diversity in the profession and protect the rights of children, achieve racial justice, combat discriminatory policies, and eradicate systemic racism. Nunn is a member of the Class of 1999 at Dartmouth College and a graduate of The University of Chicago Law School.
