Oct. 21: Energy, Poverty and Health in a Changing Climate

On Wednesday, October 21 at 12 p.m. EDT, Diana Hernandez of Columbia University will give a talk titled "Energy, Poverty and Health in a Changing Climate" as part of the New Energy: Conversations with Early-Career Researchers series. Dr. Hernandez, an Assistant Professor of Sociomedical Sciences at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, focuses her work on the social and environmental determinants of health by querying the impacts of policy and place-based interventions on the health and socioeconomic well-being of vulnerable populations. 

Her presentation will provide a conceptual and empirical overview of the energy, poverty and health nexus in the context of climate change highlighting policy and practical opportunities to promote energy justice.
