Energy Justice Course

ANTH 50.48: Energy Justice

Launched in winter 2022, Dartmouth's new Energy Justice course and clinic provide Dartmouth students the opportunity to observe and shape how energy in local communities is generated, distributed, and used within a framework that underscores economic, racial, and social equality. The Clinic model brings Dartmouth researchers and students together to conduct hands-on research with community partners to advance social science scholarship on energy justice while supporting community needs.

ANTH 50.48 Energy Justice, gives students the tools to understand how the issues of culture, power, and inequity are part of the global transition away from fossil fuel based energy systems. The course includes an Energy Justice Clinic, supported by Dartmouth's Irving Institute for Energy and Society, in which students will engage in community-driven service learning.
