Nancy Schwartzman Malmquist is a partner and Vice Chair of the Energy and Telecommunications Group at Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC (DRM). Nancy's practice focuses on energy and telecommunications law, including regulatory matters and compliance, transactions, infrastructure siting and contract negotiations. Nancy provides strategic direction and advice to national and regional energy generation and transmission providers; renewable energy companies; and telecommunications and wireless companies. Nancy frequently represents clients before state public utility commissions, as well as other federal and state agencies, to obtain approvals and assist companies with project siting, certifications, mergers and acquisitions, and financings.
Before joining DRM, Nancy was special counsel at the Vermont Public Service Department, where she was responsible for litigation before the Public Utility Commission and regulatory and policy matters involving the energy and telecommunications industries. Previously, Nancy practiced corporate and securities law at Ropes & Gray in Boston, MA and Washington, D.C. Nancy holds an A.B. with Honors from Dartmouth College and a J.D. with Honors from Boston College Law School.
Outside DRM, Nancy is a dedicated Dartmouth volunteer, serving as President of the Dartmouth College Association of Gift Planning Chairs, as well as on the Executive Board of the Dartmouth College Class Officers Association (and as a Class of 1979 officer). Nancy also serves as a Commissioner and Member of Executive Committee for the Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission. She is also Vice Chair of the Town of West Fairlee Planning Commission.
