Ian Whitcomb is President of Irving Oil, and represents the company on the advisory board of Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy & Society at Dartmouth College.  In addition to serving as Irving Oil’s President, Ian also serves on the Company’s Board of Directors.  At Irving Oil Ian leads the Company’s senior management team and is responsible for the development and implementation of corporate strategy, the achievement of planned results across a broad spectrum of responsibilities and the safe and reliable operation of the company’s assets in Canada, the United States and Europe.

Ian is a graduate of Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  He spent many years as a senior partner at Deloitte during his 35 year career with the firm where he consulted with a variety of clients, primarily in the energy space.  Prior to joining Irving Oil, Ian was also a member of the Board of Directors of Deloitte Canada.  Ian is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Professional Accountant.

Ian has worked with the Arthur Irving Family and with Dartmouth College in the establishment of the Arthur L Irving Institute for Energy & Society and believes strongly in the mission and vision of the Institute.
