Aimee Barnes '04

Aimee Barnes currently runs Hua Nani Partners, a consulting practice that helps seed new ideas for next-generation climate and energy solutions and serves as a Senior Advisor with the California-China Climate Institute at UC Berkeley. Previously, she was Senior Advisor to California Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr., Deputy Secretary for Border and Intergovernmental Relations at the California Environmental Protection Agency, and Partner at Allotrope Partners, an investment firm specializing in early-stage companies in the carbon and clean energy sectors. Earlier in her career, Barnes served as an international climate change policy advisor for the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she helped establish a new department to manage the country's climate and clean energy policies. She also is the recipient of the 2018 US Clean Energy Education & Empowerment (C3E) Government Award in recognition of her work in advancing climate solutions. In addition to her BA from Dartmouth, Aimee Barnes has an MPA in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University and is currently a non-resident fellow at Columbia's Center on Global Energy Policy.
