The Irving Institute is growing! Over the last few terms, we have welcomed a number of new team members who are helping to support our mission and programs and amplify our impact.
On the staff side, Holly Buker, who helped support Thayer's Masters of Engineering Management Program for the past eight years, has moved over to the Institute to continue to support Institute Interim Faculty Director Geoff Parker as Executive Assistant.
Claire Shaw brings a strong background in events planning and management, customer service, data management, and multi-media development to her role as the Institute's Events and Communications Coordinator.
Michelle Spiliotes, Director of Finance and Operations, is a Tuck '99 who joins the Institute following a 20+ year career at Accenture, where she was a Managing Director in the Strategy Consulting and Data & AI practice areas.
Cate Homicki recently joined us as Director of Communications, Marketing, and Engagement. Cate brings with her over 20 years of nonprofit experience in marketing communications, organizational development, strategic planning, fundraising, and program management, and is dedicated to elevating and amplifying the Irving Institute's programmatic priorities with both internal and external stakeholders, while fostering engagement across the Dartmouth community.
On the academic side, we're pleased to welcome Dan Reicher '78, Senior Scholar at Stanford's Woods Institute for the Environment (part of Stanford's Doerr School of Sustainability), who, as Institute Senior Fellow, is leading the Uncommon Dialogue (UD) on Northeastern Rivers and Dams, a new collaboration between Dartmouth and Stanford.
Honor Passow has joined our team, also as a Senior Fellow. Dr. Passow will be leading the development of our co-curricular and continuing education programs. We are delighted to benefit from her distinguished career in curriculum development. She joins us from the Geisel School of Medicine where she has served as the Director of Academic Affairs and Lecturer at the Geisel School of Medicine over the past 15 years.
And Jörg Maschullat, Chairing Professor for Geochemistry and Geoecology and Director of the Interdisciplinary Environmental Research Centre and recent Vice-Rector at the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg in Germany, joins the Institute as the summer 2024 Harris Distinguished Visiting Professor.
We've had to say goodbye to some members of the team, as well. April Salas, who served as Executive Director from 2022-2024, left the Institute and Dartmouth in June. We extend our gratitude to April for her strategic guidance and collaborative leadership, which led to the launch of a broad set of initiatives that resulted in successful activities such as the Greenshot Climate Solutions Accelerator, the TuckLAB: Energy curriculum, and the expansion of the faculty seed grant program.
And at the beginning of August, Angus McReynolds, who has been the Institute's Coordinator of Experiential Education for the past two and a half years, will transition to a new role within Dartmouth College, joining Tuck's Executive Education's Program Experience Team as a program manager. While we will miss Angus' enormous contributions, we celebrate his advancement to a new role and hope to find opportunities to collaborate in the future.
