FEB. 7: Field Trip to Vermod

Have you ever wondered how a "green" home is built? Come on a tour of Vermod, a local home construction company that makes energy efficient homes for low-income homeowners. Low-income families in New England who live in mobile homes typically lose large fractions of their take-home pay on their energy bills, and can't afford traditional energy efficient homes or retrofitting. Additionally, mobile homes are much more likely to be damaged in extreme weather events, which will be more numerous and intense in the coming decades and centuries. Vermod's homes are resilient, affordable, and have a very small carbon footprint: on an annual basis, the rooftop solar panels generate all the energy needed for heating and electricity. Come with us this Friday to learn more about this amazing company, talk with their staff, and tour their modular home factory. RSVP using this form.

We'll be going to the Vermod factory in Wilder, VT using the Advance Transit bus system. We'll be boarding the Green Line at the bus stop in front of the Hanover Inn at 3:23 PM. If you arrive late, the bus will be gone, so please arrive on time, preferably by 3:15!

If you have any questions about transportation, accessibility, or the tour itself, please don't hesitate to email Kate.Salamido@dartmouth.edu.
