Summer 2019 Energy Horizons

Summer Energy Horizons

Strategies for Regional Electricity Transitions

The Sustainability Office and Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy & Society are seeking applicants for our upcoming Summer Energy Horizons program.

The program will include a 6-day road trip through New England (NH, MA, NY, & VT) where we will learn about different strategies for electricity generation, storage, and distribution. What challenges and pressures are the grid and stakeholders facing today? How are different states facilitating electricity transitions in New England through policy, infrastructure, climate goals, and technology?

The last 3 days will be spent at Moosilauke Ravine Lodge where we will have the opportunity to reflect upon our experiences, complete a design thinking exercise, and pitch ideas for pathways to the best possible electricity future for New England.

Applications due Sunday, March 31st, 5pm

Trip dates: June 10th – June 19th
