Summer 2019 Energy Horizons

Summer Energy Horizons Mini-Trip Series

Get outside and off campus this summer for our 2-part field trip series as we explore the Northeast and learn about regional energy initiatives.  We will learn about topics ranging from the petroleum industry to renewable energy storage solutions.  Each trip is a standalone experience, but we encourage you to participate in all of them if you can!  No previous knowledge of the energy sector is required!

Electricy in New England: 1-day trip on either Saturday 8/10 or 8/17

Come learn about how electricity is produced, stored and distributed in the region with visits to a pumped-storage hydro facility.  This 1 day trip will include visits to Northfield Mtn and Brattleboro, VT.

Biomass in Action: 1-day trip on either Saturday 8/10 or 8/17

With Dartmouth's energy transition on the horizon, now is a great time to learn about biomass from foresters and some of our peer institutions. This 1 day trip will include visits to South Royalton, VT.
