The Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy and Society is pleased to announce the appointment of Frohman C. Anderson Jr. '84 to its Advisory Board. As Chairman of Everwatch and former partner at Champlain Capital, Frohman brings deep experience as an investor and entrepreneur in the energy and climate space, as well as the industrial materials, IT, and consumer products sectors. His recent and current areas of focus include clean energy, electrification of transport, and alternative proteins.
Frohman also serves as a Director of Quaise Energy, a cutting-edge geothermal energy developer that targets ultra-deep, high-temperature resources using its proprietary millimeter wave drilling technology to access previously unreachable geothermal potential across the globe. “Frohman’s leadership, wealth of knowledge, and passion as an energy and climate impact investor, advisor, and philanthropist will be valuable as the Irving Institute pursues new opportunities and partnerships to address our world’s most critical challenges in the energy and society space,” said Scott Fisher '93, TH'93, TU'98, Chair of the Irving Institute Advisory Board. As an Irving Institute Advisory Board member, Frohman especially looks forward to contributing to the student learning experience and campus decarbonization initiatives.
In addition to welcoming Frohman to the Advisory Board, the Irving Institute extends utmost gratitude to departing Advisory Board members Abigail (Abby) Ross Hopper ‘93 and Nancy Malmquist ‘79. “Nancy and Abby have been integral to the Irving Institute and its mission since the Advisory Board was established,” said Geoff Parker, faculty director of the Irving Institute. “We’re thrilled that both of them will continue to be involved with the Institute, allowing us to benefit from their world-class expertise in new ways.” Abby has been appointed as an Irving Institute distinguished industry fellow. In this role, she will lead special initiatives focused on accelerating the pace and scale of transmission infrastructure upgrades needed to meet rapidly growing U.S. electricity demand. Nancy will remain involved with the Institute as a leader of its engagement committee and through continued mentorship of students pursuing energy careers.
The Irving Institute Advisory Board provides advice on the strategy and operations of the Institute in service to its mission. It includes leaders from the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, with vast experience in business, policy, and technology pertaining to energy and society. Advisory Board members assist in both informing the work of the Irving Institute and in actively assisting with that work. Advisory Board members are crucial partners in connecting the Irving Institute to a global network of energy and society stakeholders, which expands the Institute’s research and programming, and exposes students to real-world challenges and opportunities in the global energy transition.
