Dartmouth's Carbon Zero Ambitions and Energy Transition

Science Communication Workshop with Rose Mutiso '08, TH'08

McGuire Prize winner and Energy for Growth Hub Research Director Rose Mutiso will lead an engaging and informative science communication workshop, 

Navigating the Energy Transition Across New Hampshire and Vermont: Stories from Practitioners
Open to all
How are New Hampshire and Vermont approaching the energy transition? Despite being neighbors, New Hampshire and Vermont employ different strategies in their approach to decarbonization and an equitable and inclusive clean energy transition. Join us for an engaging evening as energy practitioners from the two states share stories about their experiences, lessons learned, and a call to action on both sides of the river.  

The Dartmouth Faculty Symposium on Climate, Energy and Society
Open to Dartmouth faculty, postdocs, and graduate students
Dartmouth faculty from across the disciplines gather to connect with colleagues and learn about the breadth and depth of climate, energy and society research through short-form and in-depth talks. A post-symposium "champagne walk" tour of nearby labs will also be offered. 

Art Opening for Energy Pools and Solarscapes
Open to all
Join us for the opening of two art exhibits related to energy and climate by Associate Professor of Film and Media Studies Jacque Wernimont and Jeremy Hadfield '22, TH'23. Refreshments will be served. 

The 2023 McGuire Prize for Social Impact Public Lecture: "Reframing the Debate on Africa's Energy Future"

2023 McGuire Prize recipient and Irving Institute Advisory Board member Rose Mutiso '08, TH'08 will deliver a talk, "Reframing the Debate on Africa's Energy Future." More info and link to recording here. 

Climate and Energy Week Poster Session and Competition
Open to the Dartmouth campus community
Dartmouth undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, faculty, and staff are invited to share posters highlighting their climate and energy work and compete for up to $1,000 in prizes. Posters will be displayed in the Irving Institute atrium during Climate and Energy Week with a session and competition judging.

Revers Center for Energy, Sustainability, and Innovation Alumni Career Panel
Open to students
Learn about the career journeys of these recent Tuck graduates in a career panel geared toward undergraduate students. Panelists include: Pooja Yadav T'18, Managing Director, Office of Equity and Investment Funds; Holland Davis T'18, Vice President, HarbourVest; Anna Foglesong T'08, Managing Director, Clean Grid Initiative; and Jordan Swett T'25, Climate Technology Venture Capital Fellow. Revers Center Executive Director Jonathan Silverthorne moderates. 

The Oil Machine (Film Screening and Discussion)

The Oil Machine is a documentary film that explores our economic, historical and emotional entanglement with oil by looking at the conflicting imperatives around North Sea oil. This invisible machine at the core of our economy and society now faces an uncertain future as activists and investors demand change. Is this the end of oil? Screening and post-film discussion led by Dartmouth Associate Professor of Environmental Studies Michael Cox.

The Dartmouth Energy Alliance Energy Hackathon
Open to students
The Dartmouth Energy Alliance student energy club hosts its second energy hackathon for Dartmouth undergraduate and graduate students. This event gives teams of 3-5 students a chance to collaborate around several industry-wide challenges, benefit from the mentorship of energy experts, network, and compete for cash prizes.
